History

The assignment requires the use of a variety of sources related to your topic:

• Primary sources (as indicated on the assignment) available in print or online
• At least three additional sources
• You may use your textbook for background information

Your additional sources should be reliable, substantial, scholarly (academic) sources. The following should help you identify a scholarly source:

• The author is an expert in the field or the source is from a legitimate insitution/organization (i.e. University of Oxford)
• References/bibliographies/works cited page included
• The source provides an in-depth analysis of the subject (an article of several pages or a book chapter)

When searching for secondary sources, you will need to search in a variety of search engines (the internet, library catalogue and library databases) and employ a variety of search terms.

Sources may include:

• Books (print or online)
• Articles from academic journals (library databases or online)
• Reputable websites (for example, a history department website from a university)
