Checklist for Effective Posters:

• Font type and size are consistent (use the same size font for levels of headings).
• Text can read at a distance.
• Text may be single-spaced.
• Only include key findings and necessary text. Use bullets and visuals to convey information.
• Use consistent colour scheme.
• Follow APA Style rules as closely as possible for all visual information (photos, figures, tables, etc.).
• Include an APA Style formatted References list. The References list may be in smaller font to conserve space.

To limit your search results, consider the following filters:

• peer-review/scholarly articles (note that ScienceDirect database only contains peer-reviewed journal; Google Scholar does not have a peer-review limiter)
• date range - try to find the most recent research (published in the last two years)
• article/document type - limit to research articles or review articles
• search by Subject or use the option "Abstract, keywords, title" to ensure your search results include articles "tagged" with these terms

• When you have found a relevant article, examine the subjects assigned to the article and use these to refine your search
