For Faculty

What Support is Available?

Library staff are available for consultations on faculty research projects. We can help you:

  • Develop your research question
  • Use library databases and Google Scholar effectively and efficiently
  • Find materials to support current and new course development
  • Discover and use citation management software
  • Select a research study design
  • Revise your ethics review application

We are happy to help you find resources for classroom instruction or on a topic of interest, but please note that it is a collaborative process between faculty and library staff. We rely on your feedback to help us locate resources that are right for you!

If you are pursuing an advanced degree at another institution, we recommend that you seek help first from your institution’s library services, as their collections will be designed to support your program.

Research at MHC

Scholarship is alive and well at MHC, with faculty from different program areas working on a wide variety of research projects throughout the year. The finished product or your "research output" will depend on the nature of your project. Research conducted at MHC has resulted in many types of research outputs, including:

  • Conference posters
  • Peer reviewed journal articles
  • Book chapters
  • Open course texts

And many others!

If you're not sure what research output would best suit your project, you can consult your Dean, colleagues, and library staff.
