Linking to Library Content

Links from the library catalogue are the easiest way to ensure that students will be able to access the item in the future and off campus. Within the library catalogue, select Share:

Copy the link: 

This links directly to the item record, which provides the usual access options. If the user is off campus, they will be prompted to authenticate with their MHC credentials in order to access the item. 

EBSCO Databases

When viewing an item, select the share button: 

Select create link, and copy the provided link: 

This link is permanent and includes the proxy information embedded so the article is accessible off campus. 

Proquest Databases

When viewing an item, select the copy URL button: 

This URL is stable and contains the proxy prefix. 

JSTOR

When viewing an item, copy the stable URL: 

Add the proxy prefix to the beginning of the URL to ensure the link is accessible off campus: 

https://mhc.idm.oclc.org/login?url=

The above URL becomes: 

https://mhc.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https://www.jstor.org/stable/27114911

ScienceDirect does not use unique URLs for articles, and instead uses the item's DOI. Copy the DOI from the record: 

Add the proxy prefix to the beginning of the URL to ensure the link is accessible off campus:

Below the video player, select Share: 

Under Embed/Link, copy the Record URL:
